i love playing as a corsair. It fairly hard and you get the good weapons.

For a chalange try Fugitive. Can only land on Junker and Zoner bases to start. You spend your efforts fixing your reputation. It can be done...I've gotten everybody white or green with me. Took about 500 kills though.

Xenos are a hard one to play too. Not too many basses to land at first and noplace to buy a new ship. You have to lane hack to earn mony.
