HI there, I see from the the forum that your server is almost vanilla with some server side tweaks. I have an eagle with and Adv Champ shiled wont fairly from AI. Logged in tonight after a few weeks away. Saw 3 noobs in Ny so I went down to say g'day and help them out. I was talking to two [PD] players, Viper and Pyro. Another player (ORLM)-Deus[X]Machina, flying a Startracker I think, flies up one shot kills me no warning. I ask him what weap hack he is using and he tells me some crap about secret weaps. Is he one of yours? As there is no use playing here if players like him are able to go round and make peeps toast. I have a couple of screen shots. ImageImage

No. This was not anyone from the admins...this player has been banned. Funny thing is that someone did that to me just the night before. Must look into more indepth cheat protection. Sorry for your inconvience. Tis a warped mind that gets fun by ruining others.

Thankyou mate. tis a warped mind and I didnt think it was an admin playing funny buggers but had to ask. thanks for the prompt reply keep up the good work I enjoy the challenge of the server side tweaks.

Best thing to do with cheaters is to ban as they appear. There are a few anti-cheat programs out that work pretty good and there are some out that are just awful and ruin the FL fun IMO. You can get IFSO it is pretty good for getting most cheaters, and does not mess the game up any.

There are some cheats that I do not think will ever be stopped. I will not get into them as some are not well known and I do not want to spread it around. Even the hardest anti-cheats out cannot do anything about several I know many people use to get unfair advantage over the other players in the game.

MP PvP is nothing but a hacker on hacker fight or Hacker on non-hacker noob who thinks that other person is just really good. As a mod maker I know what can be done with ships and how much firepower each ship with what every weapons are on that ship of how long they can fire before running out of energy, as well as the turn rate of ships. I am shocked at many of the people that I know who have been in FL for years and use some cheats to get a huge advantage over the other players. It is not right and the only way to stop it is to max everything out in all classes so that if they try to tweak it a little more it becomes uncontrollable. In addition, thy have to go back to the modded setting or less to be able to compete.
